I watch a lot of photographers and explorers and I dream of doing things they do. To be Inspired to Inspire others is what I think of when watching these people. So many of them talk about having a Mentor, a Guru, a Teacher. And I wish I would have taken the reins on so many things in my life to be in a position to do things like they are doing.
Watching them also isn’t helping my Bucket List either. I’d like to say “I’m adding ‘Climbing El Capitan’ to my Bucket List” but there are too many things depending on me and I’d have to take years to train to accomplish such a feat. I’d have to take weeks or months away from my family to do such things. In stories about Ansel Adams, Edward Curtis, Jimmy Chin and Renan Ozturk, you hear how they were away from family for months. Thinking of that time away from my family, scares me. I think what I can add to the Bucket List is, meeting a few of those that do and have inspired me. You got to start with small steps and start checking off the List.
I know have shared a lot of my knowledge about photography with several people over the past few years. I did because I love teaching people. Really teaching photography! So we share things to pass knowledge on and to continue to inspire others to better themselves or to create. Those that I have shared with have gone on to do some amazing things. Just as my mentor Kellie did with me. So make sure you’re not hoarding all your knowledge, share with someone a simple piece of you to help keep people inspired.
